Meet Tamika Catchings: Founder & Chief Tea Enthusiast

After a legendary career as a 4x Olympic Gold Medalist, WNBA Champion, and 10x All-Star with the Indiana Fever, Tamika Catchings returned to her Indianapolis roots with a new mission: building community through wellness, culture, and connection.

In 2017, Tamika purchased Tea's Me Cafe, drawn to its commitment to quality loose leaf tea and its role as a neighborhood gathering place. She saw an opportunity not just to run a business, but to create a space where people could come together, celebrate culture, prioritize wellness, and feel truly valued.

Tea's Me represents everything I care about—excellence, community, and taking care of people. Just like on the court, we show up every day committed to being the best and serving with purpose.

Under Tamika's leadership, Tea's Me has become more than a cafe. It's a cultural hub, hosting community events, supporting local initiatives through the Catch Stars Foundation, and maintaining its identity as a proudly Black-owned small business making a big impact.

Tea’s Me IU Indianapolis is a campus-based tea café and leadership hub designed to serve students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding community. Located in the heart of campus, this kiosk-style concept blends freshly steeped teas, wellness-focused beverages, and quick bites with real-world workforce development and entrepreneurship training for students. As part of the Tea’s Me mission, the IU Indianapolis location creates a welcoming space where community, learning, and leadership come together—one cup at a time.
